League of Women Voters presents 'Pro and Con'

The League of Women Voters of Fremont, Newark and Union City will be presenting a "Pro" and "Con" presentation on the upcoming State Wide Initiatives Prop 91, 92, 93, 94-97 and Alameda County Measures A & B at the Fremont Main Library, Monday, January 7, 2008 at 7 p.m.
Please join us as we ask: Should fuel taxes be used just for transportation instead of going into the General Fund? Should community colleges be given separate funding? Should term limits be loosened? Should public money be spent on a private hospital?
Specific Propositions and Measures to be discussed:
State Wide Propositions Proposition 91 - Transportation funding initiative. Constitutional amendment and statute Proposition 92 - Community colleges funding, governance fees. Constitutional amendment and statute. Proposition 93 - Limits on legislators' terms in office. Initiative constitutional amendment. Proposition 95, 96, 97 - Referendum on amendment to Indian gaming compact. Alameda County Ballot Measures Measure A - Alameda Children's Hospital Public Funding Measure B - Alameda Children's Hospital Public Funding
