Art by Nancy Rice
Learn how to pour acrylic paints on the canvas and never have to use a paintbrush to complete your piece of art. Nancy Rice will demonstrate how to create art by pouring acrylics and also explain color theory, some compositional techniques and how to use various acrylic mediums to achieve one-of-a-kind works of art. Break free from worrying how the painting is going to come out and just have fun with the process. Formerly she painted realistically, but now says, "I'm no longer concerned if the painting looks like an actual place; if it evokes a feeling of place, then I've achieved my intent." Your own experimentation is encouraged.
Nancy has been painting for over 30 years and has very successfully used this technique she developed over the past decade. She has taught at the Pacific Art League in Palo Alto and now teaches out of her studio in Sunnyvale. Her work has been exhibited at many Galleries throughout California, both in solo and group exhibits, and she has won a high percentage of awards for the number of times she has entered competitions. Visit her website at www.nancyrice.com to see examples of her work.
