New car donation program at Chabot College

Submitted By Chad Mark Glen

Chabot College radio station KCRH 89.9 FM in Hayward is currently accepting donations of used vehicles. Members of the community who are interested in donating a vehicle will be helping to keep KCRH on the air, serving Chabot College students and providing information and entertainment to the surrounding East Bay community.

Donors will receive a tax receipt for their donation and IRS form 1098 B in this easy and convenient way of giving. The new tax law allows donors to list the value for which the vehicle sold as a tax deduction. Donate by Monday, Dec. 31, to Reap Tax Benefits in 2007.

Vehicles including cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, snow-mobiles, jet skis, and boats will be accepted, although some restrictions apply.

The program offers free same day and weekend pick ups, and cars do not have to have a smog certificate or be running in most cases. The tow truck driver will provide donors with all the required DMV forms.

To schedule a vehicle pick up, or to learn more information about the program, please call (877) 411-3662.
