Support needed to adopt a family this holiday season
Submitted By Joanne Paletta
The Tri-City League of Volunteers (LOV), with less than four weeks to go until Christmas, still has 64 families that have not been adopted. LOV has stopped taking applications from those who are in need until we are assured that those that have already registered are going to be embraced by an adopting business, family, or individual.
Dillon is 7-years-old and wants lots of clothes and some toys- "But if you don't want to buy me toys it's okay. I will trade getting toys for clothes cuz I need clothes real bad."
Latifu and her five children lost their husband/dad in a fatal car accident on Feb.16 this last year. This is their first Christmas without him. Each family member owns only one pair of shoes, and the eldest child wears dad's clothes because his mom couldn't afford to buy him new clothes for school.
One dad is asking for just a bicycle so he can get to work. These are just a couple of the many heart-wrenching stories of people in our community who could use some holiday cheer. Help make them, and, any other families and children's wishes come true this holiday season by adopting a family. If you don't have time to shop you can donate money and LOV will shop and wrap a gift for you.
