Union City Resident Wins NAPA Trick Truck Award
Submitted By Amanda Bibbee
NAPA Auto Parts awarded Union City resident Jim Rodriguez the NAPA Trick Truck award at the 18th Autumn Get Together held Nov. 10 - 11, in Pleasanton for his 1965 Chevy Suburban.
Judges lauded the attention to detail in the turquoise and white paint job which was handled by Wild Woman Graphics of Hayward, Calif. Complimenting the paint job are Chevy Rallye wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich tires, Billet Specialties steering wheel and valve covers, 2 1/2-inch Flowmaster exhaust, a 1965 Cadillac steering column, 1994 Silverado seats and a Kenwood stereo system.
The Suburban also features a 350 engine with a Turbo 350 transmission, power steering, power windows and brakes, an Air Ride suspension and a Vintage Air A/C system.
The build took Rodriguez and his brother four years to finish. They both used the NAPA Auto Parts store in Newark for traditional wear parts. |
