The Salvation Army Needs 600 Turkeys
Submitted By Julius Murphy
Annually, The Salvation Army assists needy families in Newark, Fremont, and Union City with food at Thanksgiving and Christmas. The typical food box includes stuffing, vegetables, mash potato mix, cake mix, a turkey and other goodies.
This year, our turkey supplier has reported a shortage of turkeys and will not be able to provide The Salvation Army with turkeys.
"We need 250 turkeys for our Thanksgiving distribution and 350 turkeys for our Christmas distribution," says Captain Julius Murphy, Corps Officer of the local Salvation Army.
The Salvation Army will be accepting donations of turkeys Monday - Friday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. For more information, please contact Mary Ann Ramirez, Social Service Coordinator at (510) 793-6319 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
