National Fire Prevention Week had a special meaning for citizens of Union City. On Saturday, October 20, Fire Station One opened its doors to show visitors what a fire station looks like behind the scenes and demonstrate their prowess as they dismantled a car with the Jaws of Life rescue apparatus. Viewing fire engines up close thrilled young and old alike as firefighters hosted station tours, prepared food and provided safety education as part of the day's activities along with the lighthearted antics of Sprinkler the Clown and his animated friends. |
