World Forum at Ohlone

Ohlone College presents the first World Forum address for fall 2007 on Tuesday, October 16. Ambassador B.S. Prakash, the Consul General of India, will provide a perspective of the changing global profile of India. He will also address the dynamics of USA -India relationships, exploring current synergies between India and the Silicon Valley.
In addition to his current San Francisco-based post, Ambassador Prakash has served Indian Embassies in Germany, Saudi Arabia, Austria, Sri Lanka and Uganda. He has been a member of the India delegation to the United Nations and was India's representative to the International Atomic Energy Agency in Vienna.
Ambassador Prakash has a B.S. in Physics and an MPhil in International Relations. He was a Senior Fellow on U.S. Foreign Policy at the University of Maryland and has several publications in academic journals on issues including international relations, peace keeping and humanitarian law. He speaks English, Hindi, Kannada, and German languages.
The Ohlone College World Forum series presents timely information on international issues from some of the premier authorities on each topic. Upcoming topics in the 2007-08 World Forum series include Deaf Culture, an International Perspective and The Global Climate Crisis.
