Quarter Auction

Submitted By Shirley Sisk

LOV is planning an evening of great food, fantastic prizes, and a lot of fun on Sunday, Oct. 28 in the Fremont Elks Lodge. Doors will open at 4:30 p.m. for you to come for a 5 p.m. prime rib and chicken dinner with salad, Grecian potatoes, 3-cheese pasta, mixed vegetables, dessert, and beverages. This is the 2nd Annual Quarter Auction. Last year, everyone had such a great time and helped raise funds for LOV's holiday programs.

At the Quarter Auction, everyone will have a chance at winning great prizes for as little as 25 cents. Attendees will be given a Bingo Bucket with a number on it. Put in a quarter, or sometimes two or three quarters, depending on the prize, and if your bucket number matches the bingo ball pulled, you win!

There will also be fantastic silent and live auction prizes - just in time for your holiday giving. The holidays are approaching fast - and the proceeds of this event will benefit LOV's Thanksgiving Day meal program, which served 4,182 meals last year.

Thanksgiving dinner will be at the Newark Pavilion and open to all. Meals are also served to the homebound in Fremont, Newark, Union City, Hayward, San Leandro, San Loranzo and Castro Valley. Proceeds also will help with Toys for Tots, Kid's Holiday Party and Adopt-a-Family. LOV provided nearly 7,000 toys to Tri-City agencies for their client children last year. The tickets are only $30 per person.

Tables for 10 are available for sponsorship so bring a table full and have great fun. Reservations must be received by Oct. 23 and will include an opportunity drawing ticket for a great prize. Costumes are optional, however, there will be prizes for those wishing to enter and be judged.
