Eagle Scout honored by Newark city council
Steven Garrett Tanizawa was awarded the rank of Eagle Scout on July 26, 2007. Newark Mayor David Smith read a proclamation honoring his achievement at the September 27 city council meeting in which Tanizawa's achievements. In an official commendation, it was noted that Tanizawa is a member of Boy Scout Troop 20 from the Southern Alameda County Buddhist Church in Union City and the Order of the Arrow. He has served as Junior Assistant Scout Master, Senior Patrol Leader and Quartermaster. His Eagle community project was the planning and construction of storage cabinet for Onami Taiko, a community Japanese drum group. |
