Submitted By Louis Heystek
Dutra Enterprises, Inc. (DEI) began construction of Plaza Los Olivos, a 21,000 sq. ft. retail-office building in the heart of Fremont's Mission San Jose District, with a groundbreaking ceremony led by Mayor Bob Wasserman on Friday, Sept. 21 at the south side of the project site, 43400 Mission Blvd. The long-anticipated start of construction will follow an aggressive building schedule, with the grand opening slated for next summer.
"Plaza Los Olivos will follow the highest architectural design standards that honor the neighborhood's uniqueness and historic setting," said John J. Dutra, CEO and Plaza Los Olivos Project Manager. "We intend on attracting and retaining long-term tenants who share our commitment to preserve Mission San Jose's distinct character and quality of life." The project site is located at the corner of Mission Blvd. and Mission Tierra Place between Anza Way and Washington Blvd.
Plaza Los Olivos, anchored by the newly relocated corporate headquarters of Dutra Enterprises, Inc. and by the Fremont branch of top-performing real estate brokerage Prudential California Realty, will feature an open courtyard, outdoor seating areas and ample parking for a host of desired tenants, including restaurants, retail shops, and professional and medical office uses. Total leasable space in the two-story commercial center is approximately 20,500 ft.
