Los Tigres Azules snap losing streak while Firebirds remain perfect

Shadin Awad scored four goals as Los Tigres Azules snapped a two-game losing streak with a 5-1 victory over Arsenal. Los Tigres were dominating play when they fell behind Arsenal in the first half, 1-0. LTA equalized when Awad scored her first goal on an assist from Erin Kunz just before halftime. Awad then scored three straight goals in the second half before Kayla Bushey added the fifth and final goal on a pass from Neha Subramanyam. Paige Castren also had a pair of near misses for the winners.
Mahsa Dinyari and Kara Jeffrey played well for Los Tigres in a 1-0 loss to the Cyclones. In the 7-0 loss to undefeated Chaos, Bushey, now in goal, recorded eight saves. Ladin Awad also played well in that defeat.
Firebirds: Games of September 15 and 17, 2007 for FC Fremont's Firebirds of the Girls Under-12 House League.
The Firebirds improved to 4-0 with a pair of victories, 3-0 over the Vipers and 5-0 over the Blue Earthquakes. Raquel Rodas had two goals and an assist in both games for the Firebirds.
Elena Strom had two goals in the victory over Blue Earthquakes while Ciara Valdez added a goal and an assist. Lauren Youhanna and Cerrena Vera both had good games contributing to the victory over the Earthquakes.
Ashley Campbell completed the scoring against the Vipers after Rodas' two goals. Synclaire Hamilton was impressive and Alondra Gamboa played well in the win versus the Vipers.
