September 11, 2007 > Join the Newark Days Kid's Parade Join the Newark Days Kid's Parade Submitted By Shirley Sisk Kids will kick-off Newark Days with their own parade - Thursday, September 20 at 6:30 pm. There is still time to enter. All young people, schools and children's organizations in the Tri Cities are encouraged to line up and be ready for the FREE Kid's Parade in the Newark Community Center Park on Cedar Blvd near the corner of Newark Blvd. The theme this year is "Cirque de Newark." The Kid's Parade is presented and sponsored by Cargill and the Newark Jaycees. Sign-in begins at 5:30 pm along the park trail, near the tennis courts. Following the refreshment reception, awards will be presented for Best Participation, Best Use of Theme and Best Performance. All participants will receive ribbons. There is no entry fee. Deadline date for registering is extended to September 14, 2007. Applications are available at the Newark Community Center, Silliman Center, Newark Library, Newark Chamber of Commerce, League of Volunteers and on the Newark Days website www.newarkdays.org.
