August 28, 2007 > Labor Day Weekend Service Labor Day Weekend Service Submitted By Clarence Johnson In response to Caltrans' closing of the San Francisco Bay Bridge for construction during the Labor Day holiday weekend (September 1-3, 2007), AC Transit will route all of its westbound transbay service to the West Oakland BART station. The re-routing will affect transbay bus lines: the F, NL, and O. Likewise, eastbound transbay service on those lines will resume at the West Oakland BART station where AC Transit buses will then return to their normal East Bay routes. The idea is to take bus riders to the BART station that will provide them with the shortest possible ride across the bay. Consequently, only local fares will be charged to transbay bus riders during the holiday weekend. In addition, on Monday September 3, 2007 all AC Transit offices will be closed and all buses will operate on Sunday schedules in observance of the Labor Day holiday.
