Cash, prizes await "Adobo Festival" winners

Valuable cash prizes and assorted beer products will be awarded to the lucky winners of the "Adobo" cook-off contests to be held at the "Adobo Festival" September 8 and 9 at the Swiss Park in Newark,

San Miguel Corporation of the Philippines, bottler of San Miguel beer products, through its local authorized distributors, Superior Global Company, represented by Rod de Guzman, Manager, has pledged to award valuable prizes to the winner of the "Adobo" cook-out.

Participants will be required to include in their preparation of their respective "Adobo" offerings, San Miguel beer product, which may consist in including a certain percentage of SanMig beer, in marinating the ingredients of their respective "Adobo" concoction. Principal guests and performers in the Newark "Adobo Festival" include sensuous singer Patricia Javier and phenomenal diva Jessa Zaragoza. Also slated to perform are: J-Ricz, Raymond Ritchie, Eileen Papin, and a host of local musical bands including Kamandag, Good Reasons, Wangbu, Necrosis, Five Fifteen, Purlple Lace, Alamat, Angel Lace and A1 Sauce. Performing in the two-day festivities are: Jiselle Kelsey, Justin Manalac, Prospero Luna, Danika Camins, Rene "Totoy Vivo", Peejay and JR Matela, and many others.

Aside from the "Adobo" cook-off contest, other features of the festival include: raffle contests for free tickets to the Philippines, balikbayan boxes give-aways, lots of freebies and foods, and the search for Kiddie Popstar Singing Contest which is open to kids ages 6-10. The "Adobo Festival" is an annual festival to celebrate Filipino food and music. The first festival was held at the Moose Lodge in Daly City, but due to the expected high volume of visitors from the large Fil-Am communities, it was moved this year to Swiss Park at Mowry Avenue in Newark.
