Senior Health & Services Day

The Fremont Senior Center invites everyone to attend the Senior Health
& Services Day on Friday, July 20 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Dr. Barbara Boyer of Palo Alto Medical Foundation will speak on "Women*s Health Issues" from 9 - 10 am. With much new research and information available, this topic should be of interest to all.

The talk will be followed with Information Tables open from 10 am - 1 p.m., including services provided by the City of Fremont Human Services Department, area non-profit groups, and health centers. Agencies participating include: California Telephone Access Program, Caregiver Support Program, California Department of Health Services, CRIL (Community Resources for Independent Living), Fremont Paratransit, Kaiser Permanente, LIFE Eldercare, On-Lok Senior Health, Palo Alto Medical Foundation, Pathways Hospice, Pathways to Positive Aging, Public Authority (In-Home Support Services & Caregiver Registry), Senior Peer Counseling, Senior Help Line & Case Managers, Senior Veterans of America, Tri-City Health Center, Vital-Link Emergency Services, Washington Hospital Library.

Senior Center Luau Lunch and July Birthday Party

The Fremont Senior Center Luau Lunch and Entertainment is a highlight of our year. On Friday, July 20, lunch at 12 noon includes Roasted Pig, Pineapple Chicken, Sweet & Sour Fish, Rice, and Dessert. $5 Senior Center Members, $7 non-members. Entertainment starts at 1:00 p.m. with Hawaiian and Tahitian Dancing by young students of Na Mano O Ke Anuenue A Kamakani, headed by Kamakani Santos. Wear your Luau, comfort style, Hawaiian shirts and dresses, and join in the fun! Prizes will be given to seniors who have July Birthdays.

Summer and Fall Dancing to the "USS Hornet Big Band" at the Fremont Senior Center on Thursdays, 2:30-4:30 pm, $4 Senior Center Members, $5 non-members, 40086 Paseo Padre Parkway, Fremont 510-790-6600.

"Bistro in the Park" (at the Fremont Senior Center) BBQ Dinners-to-Go for Thursday Evenings Summer Concerts in the Park starting at 5:00 pm. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time at the Fremont Senior Center or on the day of event. Concerts begin at 6:30 p.m. Dinners to go can be purchased in advance.

July 26: Alameda All Stars Classic Rock Concert
August 9: Pamela Rose, Jazz & Blues Concert
August 23: La Ventana Latin Beat Concert

July 26: BBQ Gourmet Hamburger or Hot Dog or Polish Sausage, Potato or Macaroni Salad, Dessert, Drink, container, napkins & silverware. $8 ($7 for Senior Center Members).

August 9: BBQ Salmon or Brisket, Salad, Bread, Dessert, Drink, container, napkins & silverware. $12 ($10 for Senior Center Members).

August 23: Grilled Chicken Fajitas, Salsa, Guacamole, Beans, Dessert, Drink, container, napkins & silverware. $12 ($10 for Senior Center Members).
