July 17, 2007 > Olive Hyde Members Juried Show Olive Hyde Members Juried Show The Olive Hyde Art Guild had many talented artists and fantastic pieces to choose from for the upcoming members' juried show. Forty artists entered a total of 108 artworks in diverse mediums including watercolor, oil, pastel, mixed media, collage, colored pencil, gouche, photography, steel and mirror, glass, porcelain, wood, ceramic, bronze and stone, and polymer clay. Of this assortment, 59 pieces of art representing works of 34 artists were selected to be displayed in the Members Juried Show, beginning with the opening reception on July 20th. The Olive Hyde Art Guild would like to thank all the talented and creative artists who entered the Members Juried Show. In addition, the Guild is proud to congratulate the following artists who have been selected for awards: Dmitry Grudsky won Best of Show with his piece, "Last Call for the Coffee", accomplished in mixed media; Sharon Dwyer received second place for "Gathering", done in pastel; Dennis Mojado took third place with a toned gelatin silver print, "Erich with Sword". In addition, the Merit Awards recipients are Mavis Brown, Bobbie Burrie, Jacline Deridder, Katherine Latson, Kiyoko Penso, and Donna Sanson. The "People's Choice" award will be voted by those who attend the opening reception on Friday night, July 20.
