June 26, 2007 > Relic tour
You are invited to a precious exhibition of sacred relics of the Buddha and other Buddhist masters. These crystal-like objects have been found post-cremation in the ashes of holy beings such as the historical Buddha, his disciples, commentators on his teachings, lineage founders and modern day lamas.
The collection includes relics from Ananda, Shariputra, Lama Atisha, Lama Tsongkhapa, Milarepa, Lama Yeshe, Rilbur Rinpoche and several other great Buddhist masters. Lama Zopa Rinpoche, a student of His Holiness the Dalai Lama and Spiritual Director of the Maitreya project, has gathered together this unique collection of holy relics. Beautifully displayed around a golden statue of Maitreya Buddha, the relics create a powerful atmosphere inspiring loving kindness. Throughout the event there will be blessing ceremonies for visitors, with the relics.
His Holiness the Dalai Lama comments: "This project is really wonderful and is the result of great courage and determination, and from the depths of my heart, I appreciate and applaud this wonderful project. You should realize that this is a really sacred and holy project."
