In the second World Deaf Basketball Championships (WDBC) now being played in Guangzhou, China, the USA Women's Team at press time, had a record of 2-0 in first round pool play. They opened with a 91-69, victory over host China. Although they struggled in the first half and led by only nine points through much of the half, they found their rhythm near the end of the half to take a 42-26 half-time lead. The team was led by Shari Bailey, MVP of the first WDBC played in Greece, who had 25 points and 14 rebounds. Jennifer Decuir added 20 points and a team high 5 assists.
