June 5, 2007 > Kiwanis Club scholarships announced Kiwanis Club scholarships announced At a dinner honoring students, the Kiwanis Club of Fremont gave out five $1,000 turnaround scholarships. Turnaround scholarships provide recoginition and financial assistance to at-risk high school seniors who have "turned around" their life after a disastrous start in high school due to illness, family hardships, poverty or personal challenges. The 2007 honorees are: Shayna Barrs (Irvington High School); Jess Chang (Mission High School); Matt Lowe (Irvington High School); Gregory "Scott" Williams (Irvington High School). Jody Radach, a previous honoree, was awarded a "Follow-On" scholarship to continue her educational pursuits at Ohlone College.
