Indo-American Charity Ball supports two local nonprofit organizations
The Fourth Annual Indo-American Charity Ball, organized by Indo-Americans for a Better Community (IndoABC), was held Saturday, May 5. The evening showcased Indian and American culture while helping the needy of the local community. IndoABC, with the help of a matching grant, made donations of over $56,000. Beneficiaries of this year's event were the Tri-City Homeless Coalition and Kidango, helping homeless and low income families.
It was a sold out event with about 350 guests and contributors in attendance. Guests enjoyed great music performed by the Canyon Band during social hours. The program included dance performances choreographed and performed by local talent. Highlighting the evening were video presentations and a testimonial from a Tri-City Homeless Coalition resident.
Tri-City Homeless Coalition provides housing, emergency shelter and services including outreach through a mobile health clinic to end homelessness.
Kidango, an early care and education organization, serves over 2000 children in Alameda, Santa Clara and San Francisco counties. Kidango's mission is to inspire and educate all children by promoting their potential and diversity through quality education and healthy nutrition.
The event was a great success as two worthy causes received much needed monetary aid. IndoABC has asked the community for support and each year, the response has been overwhelming. We are thankful for the support and will continue to reach out to our fellow citizens the best we can.
