Keeley, Roggenbusch home in Angel win
Nick Keeley and Jake Roggenbusch both hit monster home runs, but it was Justin Casso's bases-loaded hit in the 7th inning that gave the CALL Major Angels a 7-5 victory over the FALL Red Sox on Monday night.
The Red Sox got a run in the first off starter Jake Roggenbusch, who quickly tied it up in the top of the second with a lead-off home run on a 0-2 pitch. In the bottom of the second, the Red Sox scored four runs as the Angels defense fell apart. Justin Casso got the Angels a run closer in the fourth with an RBI single. Jeremy Imlach pitched the fourth and the Angels gave up one more unearned run to make it 7-2.
But in the fifth inning, the Angels roared back. Lucas Ammerman led off with a single, followed by ringing doubles from Kyle Keefer and Logan Broussard. Jeremy Imlach then tripled to make it quickly 7-5. Then on the first pitch, Nick Keeley tied the game with at two-run homer to left center. Nick took over pitching duties for Jeremy to close out the bottom of the fifth and neither team scored in the sixth. In the top of the seventh, the Angels quickly loaded the bases, and Justin Casso's ground ball drove in the two needed runs to win the game.
