Talking the Talk
The nationally recognized Forensics team from James Logan High School (JLHS) will present a showcase of the competitors performing on Friday, May 4, at 7:15 p.m. at the Little Theater at JLHS.
The showcase is a fundraiser to help support the team as it send 59 students to the State Championship in Fullerton, CA; 30 students to the Catholic National Championships in Houston; and 18 students to the National Championships in Wichita, KS.
The evening will start with a Strizzi's pasta dinner from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Little Theater courtyard. The showcase begins at 7:15 p.m. Dinner is $8; the showcase is also $8.
This is a unique opportunity to see nationally ranked speech and debate competitors in dramatic interpretation events. Normally the competitors perform for judges only.
The JLHS Forensics team has won the national championship for the past two years. The program is nationally recognized for teaching high school students speech and debate skills.
Tickets are limited and there are only 250 seats available. Last year's showcase was a standing room only event. For advance tickets, contact Julie Ballard at (510) 471-6019.
