April 3, 2007 > Awards for AC Transit Bus Drivers Awards for AC Transit Bus Drivers Riders Show Their Appreciation On Wednesday April 4, the Transbay Taskforce will honor twelve (12) AC Transit bus operators for providing exceptional service with curbside celebrations. The Transbay Taskforce, a riders' group that meets regularly with AC Transit staff to discuss issues and make suggestions to improve Transbay service, will present their "Riders' Choice" awards to the drivers next to their buses as they pull into San Francisco's Transbay Terminal. Riders' Choice awards were designed by the Transbay Taskforce as way for actual riders formally recognize drivers for outstanding customer service. Nominations are based on several characteristics including: courtesy & general demeanor, on-time performance & reliability, and safety & smooth driving skills. Winners will receive a Riders' Choice pin for their uniforms, a letter of congratulations from the Taskforce, the nominating letters from their respective riders, a commendation from AC Transit's General Manager, a $25 American Express gift check, a donated box of treats from See's Candies, and more.
