Young composers' concert March 30
Fremont Symphony Orchestra's Young Composers Concert will be presented March 30 at the Ohlone College gymnasium. The first performance will be at 10:15 a.m. and a second performance will be offered at noon.
The annual event is a free concert to introduce students to orchestral music and to feature the work of several student composers. Fourth, fifth and sixth graders enter the composing competition.
The winning compositions are arranged by the Fremont Symphony conductor and played by the orchestra. Often the winning composer is invited to play his or her composition with the orchestra.
During the intermission from 10:15-11 a.m., students, parents and teachers are invited to have refreshments and to meet the conductor, the musicians and the contest winners. Anyone interested in further information should call (510) 659-2528.
