Mission San Jose Little League for the week ending March 10
Sam Lowrey pitched the Dodgers to an 11-7 win over the A's on opening day. Lowrey struck out five, and the Dodgers survived an A's rally. Leadoff hitter Ryan Lee reached base three times, singling and scoring. Shane Rexrode chipped in a single, Jonathan Legos reached base twice and Lowrey and Bubba Guzman scored twice. Leila Garcia's clutch two-run single highlighted the A's late push. Julian Tuminaro's stellar defense led the A's. Playing in his first baseball game, A's outfielder Hershal Bhatia pounded a double. Alex Hancock singled, scored and pitched well, and Cade Nauman contributed a nice catch on a pop fly to short.
In the other Minor National game, pitcher Aaron Havard's performance led the Braves, who came from behind to defeat the White Sox 10-6.
