Library welcomes new additions

In a brief ceremony at the Femont Main Library, Branch Manager Angela Yang and Children's Manager Karen Pacheco recognized the efforts of the Fremont Cultural Arts Council (FCAC), Olive Hyde Art Guild and a matching grant from Dale Hardware resulting in a substantial increase of art-related books for children at the library. Now available for in-house use and loan, Yang noted that age-appropriate children's books come in various sizes, shapes and lengths that help give readers a sense of accomplishment as they complete the story. Books encapsulate information in a small format designed to allow the subject matter to be absorbed in an entertaining manner by children of all ages.

The idea of augmenting the library's book selection for children began with Margaret Thornberry, President of the FCAC and immediately caught on as individuals and organizations with a similar passion for the fine arts and their critical contributions to a well-rounded community supported the concept. The library invites everyone to visit the Children's Section of the Fremont Main Library to see these wonderful new additions to their shelves.
