Tribute to Space Travel

Chabot Space & Science Center will be hosting several space related activities dedicated to space travel between 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. See a genuine Russian space suit up close, explore hands-on science demonstrations and enjoy a special screening of "To be an Astronaut" in our giant MegaDome Theater.

On the same day, from 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. Russell Schweickart, Apollo 9 Astronaut will be hosting an autograph signing to benefit the Association of Space Explorers work on preventing Near Earth Objects (NEOs a.k.a. asteroids) from hitting the Earth again (the dinosaurs wish they had such a group working the issue!).

Meet Rusty along with nine other astronauts and cosmonauts who combined have traveled on the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo, Space Shuttle, and International Space Station missions, and cosmonauts from the earliest Soviet missions through the MIR space station.

With general admission the private signing will cost $50/astronaut. General public guests will be able to come into the room to say hello as well.
