American High to host enrichment programs fair
A Summer Programs Fair to inform parents about enrichment programs for students at all grade levels will be presented at American High School Jan. 22 from 7- 8:30 p.m. in the Rotunda and in Theater 500 at AHS, 36300 Fremont Boulevard. The fair was organized by The Gifted in Fremont (TGIF), a non-profit organization that promotes student achievement through educational meetings and family events.
TGIF spokesperson Joline Ellenberg said the programs include classes, camps and residential programs for visual and performing arts, music, science, technology and other academic disciplines. The fair is a valuable once-a-year opportunity for parents to learn about programs directly from the sponsors and directors, she said.
Programs and organizations that have been represented at previous fairs include the Chabot Space and Science Center, UC Davis Young Scholars Program, Galileo Camps, Sally Ride Science Camps, the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth, the Fremont Youth Symphony, Education Unlimited, the Mill Creek Academy, Ohlone for Kids, Galileo Educational Services, Sylvan Learning Center, Classic Math School, the Lawrence Hall of Science, the Math/Science Nucleus, the Cazadero Performing Arts Camp the Berkeley Academic Talent Development Program and the Education Program for Gifted Youth at Stanford.
