Grab your hats and mittens for this Friday’s 3rd Annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony at Warm Springs Plaza in Fremont, featuring dancing, singing and raffle prizes.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive on a reindeer sleigh to spread holiday cheer. Lots of prizes for those participating in the raffle, held every hour, like an iPod, electronic toys, and television, to name a few. Raffle tickets are $10 for 12 and you must be present to win.
Performances by Yoko’s Dance & Performing Arts Academy, cheerleading demonstrations by Cheer with a Twist, caroling by the Irvington Interact Club, Warm Springs Elementary School choir and Weibel Elementary School band, is sure to put you in the holiday mood.
Mayor Bob Wasserman will present community leaders and dignitaries, and George Marshall of ePingo will MC the ceremonies.
Hot cocoa, cotton candy, food tasting and ice cream drinks are some of the tasty treats visitors can enjoy.
This event will run from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Warm Springs Plaza shopping center at the corner of Mission and Warm Springs boulevards.
A 50-foot redwood tree will be decorated with hundreds of colored twinkling lights and 400 candy canes. The lighting ceremony will be held at 6:55 p.m. followed by photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Raffle prizes will be announced at 8:05 and a sing along will wind up the evening.
Of course none of this would happen without sponsors. The Warm Springs Business and Community Association appreciates support from Pan Pacific Bank, Baskin Robbins, Rotary Club of Warm Springs, Longs Drugs, Bank of America, Fremont Bank, Una Mas, Warm Springs Plaza, Z Pizza, Island Java, Radio Shack, Starbucks, Carboodle Cartridge, Renji Acupuncture & Herbs Clinic, Sean’s Barbershop, Fremont Flowers, Foot Solutions, Aristocrat Promotional and many others.
"The Tree Lighting is a magical event that can bring ALL of Warm Springs together to share a youthful, joyful, peaceful and generous holiday season in the community," says association co-president Michelle Koan
