The CBEE Foundation is a coalition of business organizations that promotes raising academic standards and closing achievement gaps among subgroups of students. It recognizes best practices among high achieving schools and shares those practices with other schools to help them meet the achievement goals of the national No Child Left Behind Act of 2002. Schools on the CBEE Honor Roll are recognized as being on track to meet the NCLB goal of 100 percent grade-level proficiency by 2014.
The Honor Roll includes Star Schools and Scholar Schools. Star Schools are those with significant populations of socio-economically disadvantaged students that have shown a significant increase in grade-level proficiency over the past four years. Scholar Schools are schools that are showing significant academic achievement, but do not have a significant socio-economically disadvantaged population. The CBEE is recognizing 100 Star Schools and 204 Scholar Schools this year. Both MSJHS and Forest Park are Scholar Schools. |
