Touching lives around the worldby Laura Johnson
“It’s not about us – it’s about them,” says Hanna Bombino, 5th grader at Fremont Christian School. What a refreshing comment to hear from a child, especially during a time of year when most children are making their list of what they want.
Each year, Operation Christmas Child delivers millions of gift-filled shoeboxes to needy children around the world. This is the fifth year that the students (preschool - 12th grade) at Fremont Christian School have participated in this program. Last year, they sent 1,266 gift boxes. This year, the goal is 1400.
Each shoebox gift is as unique as the child who packages it, so it becomes a very personal way for one child to reach out to another on the other side of the world.
