Fremont Unified School District Governing Board(Vote for two)
Ray Bilodeau Occupation: graphic artist; parent
- Improve communications between the district and the schools. - Address school safety by reaching out to parents more.
I wrote the motto for this district-Educate, Challenge and Inspire-so I believe my being elected is the next logical step in making sure Fremont's children get all of my experience and the public will get a voice that will speak openly, and without fear from pressure or political agenda. Some call me "PTA Ray" because of my active involvement in local school affairs for the past 14 years.

Hiu Ng Occupation: engineer; manager
- Maintain strong financial management. - Improve student achievement.
I've lived in Fremont for 18 years and I have two children in FUSD schools. I am one of four community members who worked with the school district for nine months to create the Technology Advisory Committee, and I presently serve on a School Site Council. Among all the first-time candidates, I have the best knowledge, experience and leadership to help set policies and guidelines for a school district of 31,000 students.

I have recently been a teacher, a substitute teacher, and a Special Education para-educator. I initiated the idea for the Technology Advisory Committee for FUSD in September 2005 and am now a member of that committee. I have only missed one FUSD board meeting since August 2005.

Jonathon Simon Occupation: parent; teacher
- Improve community involvement. - Improve the relationship between teachers and district administrators.
My experience as a teacher is unique among board members and candidates. None of them are credentialed teachers and most have business backgrounds. We need to stop running schools like businesses and start running them like schools. I know the difference.

I have lived up to my campaign pledge of four years ago to be accessible and informed. I believe that my actions as a trustee are an excellent indication that I will continue to professionally execute the duties of this office.

I am the most qualified candidate for the FUSD board and my priorities are set in a realistic framework of where we are today and how we can move forward. I have been continuously involved for many years with the community and school district as well as with state education issues.
