California State Assembly, District 20
Ken Nishimura (Republican) Occupation: engineer
- Improve District 20 transportation and housing.
- Resolve structural imbalances in our state budget.
My philosophy is that the role of government is to provide a framework to give the opportunity for each Californian to succeed. I aim to bring a combination of my engineering and managerial background to promote pragmatic solutions to the issues facing the state, unhindered by partisan dogma. I look forward to the support of the voters of District 20.

Alberto Torrico (Democrat) (I) Occupation: State Assemblymember, District 20
- Increase economic development, especially in the high tech and biotech industries.
- Increase investment in infrastructure.
Since I was first elected two years ago, I chaired the Assembly's Committee on Public Employees, Retirement and Social Security. I also served as Assistant Majority Whip, shepherding dozens of bills through the legislative process. My effectiveness and outspoken advocacy led to recognition as "Legislator of the Year" by four separate state-wide associations.
