Scream smokes Inferno Submitted by Assistant Coach Paul Dunn
On an overcast Saturday morning, Oct. 14, Scream met Inferno in a mid-table clash of the Under-14 league. Scream's superior passing gave them the upper hand in the early exchanges, and Scream's defense, particularly Christina Kim and Selina Mahesri made sure most of the early play took place in Inferno's half of the field. Reema Agarwal opened the scoring with a beautiful solo effort as she took the ball down the center of the field and shot into the top left corner of the goal. Minutes later, Melody Chen was on the scoreboard, as she took a pass from Zarin Khan and drilled the ball into the back of the net, leaving the Inferno goalie with no chance at stopping the shot. Scream pressed on and from a corner kick, Kahn got her own goal, as Inferno defense could not clear the ball and Kahn was in the right place to prod the ball home making it 3-0. Finally, Chen and Agarwal linked up to set Agarwal free on the left side of the pitch as her hard shot beat the goalie to make the final score 4-0. |
