Auditions for Oliver
Stage 1 Community Theatre will be holding auditions for Oliver! on Monday, October 16 and Tuesday, October 17, starting at 7 p.m. Auditions will be in the Newark Memorial High School Theatre.
Barbara Williams, the director, asks that those auditioning for the following roles prepare the song listed below:
Oliver: "Where is Love?" or "Who Will Buy?" Dodger: "Consider Yourself" Fagin: "Reviewing the Situation" Nancy: "As Long as He Needs Me" or "It's a Fine Life" Bill Sykes: "My Name" Mr. Bumble: "Boy for Sale" Widow Corney: "I Shall Scream" Mr. Sowerberry: "That's Your Funeral" Mrs. Sowerberry: "That's Your Funeral", "Who Will Buy" or "Where is Love?"
Ensemble parts please prepare the song "Consider Yourself" or "Food Glorious Food" from Oliver! or a song of your choice, either ballad or up tempo (bring sheet music if song is not from Oliver!) Children may sing "Consider Yourself," or "Food Glorious Food" from Oliver! "Happy Birthday" is also acceptable.
Dress comfortably for a short dance routine. All roles are available. Stage 1 is committed to non-traditional casting. There is no pay, and it is a non-equity theatre. No appointments are necessary.

Cold readings will be held at callbacks on October 21, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Performances are January 12- January 27. Rehearsals begin Monday Oct 23.
