Celebrate Fremont
The singular moment in time, over two centuries ago, when Ohlone tribes populated the East Bay and Franciscan Fathers founded Mission San Jose was hardly more than a baby step down the long road of progress that led to today's city of Fremont. Once only a dream, Fremont is now 50 years old. It is a city with a past to cherish; a present to celebrate; and a growing legacy for tomorrow - a vibrant, thriving city, diverse yet unique.
Join Fremont's best and brightest at their half-century bash on Saturday, September 9 and Sunday, September 10 at Central Park. This FREE event is open to everyone and promises festivities that everyone will enjoy. "Celebrate Fremont" will be non-stop fun beginning Saturday morning at 9 a.m. with a Christo-type happening of "Hands Around the Lake" when celebrants will join hands, circling Lake Elizabeth for an aerial photograph. (For those who have not yet signed up, your invitation will be open until the picture is snapped!) For the next two days, the action will continue throughout Central Park. This is a must-see event; THIS party's all for you!
