Free child ID cardsby Rhoda de los Santos
Check Center on Fremont Blvd., will be issuing free child ID cards on Sunday, August. 20. The ID card's information is useful to law enforcement officials trying to locate missing children. The laminated, wallet-size cards are intended to be carried by parents, guardians, and other care givers.
The front of each card bears the child's photo and address, as well as emergency contact information. There is also a list of descriptive characteristics like age, height, weight, and coloring. The reverse side of the card carries the child's fingerprints, a list of any identifying marks, and a list of any medical conditions.
This is Check Center's fifth year of providing this popular service to our community. Parents and care givers may drop in anytime between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m.
