A Great Place For Teens To Hang Out
Are you bored? Looking for something to do for the rest of the summer? Do you like video games, scavenger hunts and playing with water balloons, or just plain chillaxin? (That's teen-speak for taking it easy and relaxing) These are just a few things that Tri-City teens can share at the League of Volunteers' Y.E.S.! (Youth Encouraged to Serve) program.
Teens can earn community service credits for field trips by delivering meals to the elderly through Meal on Wheels, making a garden (organic?), or having fun with little kids at NewPark Mall's Kid's Club, and receive a free lunch every day. Don't forget to visit with special guest Lucky the rabbit. It's all that and a bag of chips!
On Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Aug. 17, you can make an impact by doing volunteer work. The Community Service Center is located at 36120 Ruschin Dr. in Newark. Call Harold at (510) 793-5683 to find out more information.
