ConSentry Networks wins Techworld's Most Innovative Product of the Year award
Milpitas (BUSINESS WIRE), July 11_ConSentry Networks, a leading provider of secure LAN solutions, has won the 2006 Techworld Award for the most Innovative Product of the Year for the company's LANShield(TM) Controller. ConSentry also recently won the Best of Interop Las Vegas and Best of Interop Tokyo awards in the infrastructure and security categories during the 2006 shows.
The award recognizes companies for their innovation, ingenuity, and dedication. This year the judges chose winners from a record-breaking number of product entries, making the awards highly competitive. ConSentry was distinguished among all entrants for its innovation in networking and security.
ConSentry's LANShield(TM) Controller combines network admission control, unprecedented user and application visibility, complete user access control, and threat control capabilities in a single platform to provide comprehensive LAN security. Based on ConSentry's patented LANShield(TM) silicon architecture, the platform delivers Layer 2-7 deep packet inspection at 10 Gbps rates, enabling the device to sit inline and fully secure every port on an enterprise LAN.
According to Techworld, ConSentry's LANShield(TM) Controller "is able to perform deep packet inspections, correlate user activity with corporate policies, and do all of this at Gigabit speeds." The June 29th issue of Techworld went on to say, "the judges were impressed with the product's ability to handle a range of functions, all from within a single box."
The 2006 Techworld awards recognize leaders across a wide variety of industries, including security, wireless, telecommunications, storage, and networking. Winners were chosen based on strict criteria by an independent judging panel. The winners were announced on June 28, 2006, at the Royal Courts of Justice in London, United Kingdom.
