Valuable information and assistance on programs that can help unlock the door to homeownership will be available Saturday, July 15, at the Affordable Housing Fair.
The free event will include information on government and non-profit assistance programs for first-time homebuyers; lenders and financing options; rental assistance programs, senior housing; and transitional and crisis housing. It will also include information on how to avoid predatory lenders; personal credit ratings and how they affect buying a home; and affordable housing communities.
Local, state and federal public agencies that will participate in the event and have informational tables at the fair will include the cities of Fremont, Newark; Union City and Milpitas; the California Housing Finance Authority; and the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development. Other participants will include The Unity Council, Bay East Association of Realtors; Neighborhood Housing Services of Silicon Valley; Eden Housing; Citibank, Wells Fargo Bank, Coalitions Organizing for Renewal; Tri-City Homeless Coalition; and Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments (SAVE).
