Ample Communications shipment of 1GE MAC increases significantly
FREMONT (Business Wire), June 20_Ample Communications, a leading provider of communications silicon for wire line network systems, today announced it has shipped more than 500,000 ports of its Harrier family of chips. The Harrier is the industry-leading triple speed multiport Ethernet MAC with oversubscription support. With the steady increase in shipments, Ample continues to be the leading source of oversubscribed Ethernet MACs for the industry.
The Harrier product family consists of two devices: Harrier-24 (A2510), which aggregates twenty-four, 10/100/1G Ethernet ports, and Harrier-12 (A2511), which aggregates twelve 10/100/1G Ethernet ports. The chips are targeted for Ethernet switches, security appliances, routers and access devices in enterprise and metro applications.
