The Music Man

by Joyce Leung

Grab your trombones and strike up the band. Meredith Willson's "The Music Man" is hitting the outdoor stage in Ohlone College's Smith Center Amphitheatre.

The Music Man is the story of con man Harold Hill who wanders into the small town of River City offering to equip and train a boys marching band, but all the while planning to skip town with the parents' hard earned money. Things go awry however when he falls in love with town librarian, Marion. Wanting to win her hand, he risks staying in town while trying to divert the townspeople from discovering he's a fraud. Enjoy a box dinner and pre-show entertainment as you revisit this classic love story under the stars.

For ticket information contact the box office at (510) 659-6031 or visit www.smithcenterpresents.com.

Tickets are $20 for adults; $15 for seniors and youths. Box dinners served at 6:30 p.m. for $10, advanced reservations required.
