The Palo Alto Medical Foundation (PAMF), a local nonprofit health care organization, is inviting the community to a Fremont Family Fun Fest on Saturday, June 24. The festivities celebrate the Fremont Center's new medical building, which officially opened to patients on June 12.

This free event will include a family style BBQ, live music, and a kid's zone with fun activities including a petting zoo, giant combo slide and face painting.

People interested in getting information about health services offered at the Fremont Center can stop by the conference center in the new building, which will also have health information, a first aid station, blood pressure screenings and weight and height checks for children.

Visitors can also tour the Community Health Resource Center, which is open to the public Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is staffed by a health educator and offers information and support for people who wish to make informed decisions regarding their health and wellness.

The Fremont Police and Fire departments and American Medical Response ambulance service will be on hand to provide safety information, while the American Red Cross will provide information about earthquake preparedness. The Tri-City Animal Shelter will bring animals available for adoption.

With the addition of Building 2, the Fremont Center is expanding its services to offer patients comprehensive medical services closer to home.

The new three-story, 74,000 square-foot building is located on the campus next door to the original facility and can accommodate more than 100 physicians including primary care providers and specialists.

Some departments that will be housed in the new building include Audiology, Cardiology, Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery, Gastroenterology, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Ophthalmology and Urology.
