Family Heritage Day Music Festivalby Olga L Stockman
Once again, the East Bay Regional Park District will be hosting their summer celebrations of cultural diversity on Family Heritage Day at Coyote Hills Regional Park in Fremont, June 24, July 29, August 26, Noon to 4 p.m.
Each date will focus on different cultural backgrounds highlighted through music, dance, foods and other activities. Some of the cultural events include Latin Jazz, Caribbean, South Indian music, Chinese Lion Dancers, Portuguese Music, Persian Dance, blue grass and much more! Let's not forget the multi-cultural food that makes you feel like you're visiting without getting on that plane. Additional activities include guided nature walks, native games and children's crafts.
Coyote Hills is at the west end of Patterson Ranch Road in Fremont. From I-880, take Highway 84 west, exit at Paseo Padre Parkway and drive north to Patterson Ranch Road, turn left and continue until you're in the park.
Bring the whole family for some affordable, multi-cultural fun. You'll pay a small fee for parking, but the entertainment's free!
