Fremont's Mission Valley Barracudas (Cudas) started the East Bay Swim League 2006 season with a 628:398 win against the Washington Manor Dolphins. For the Barracudas, this was their fiftieth consecutive dual meet win since July of 1998. From the first meet in 2001, this team has won all their meets including championships. This is a total of forty-one straight wins.
Though their first meet against the Dolphins was on a weekday evening, the Cuda swimmers and parents all came out to make this event successful. In the Medley relays, the Cudas placed first in all age groups except boys' 11-12 age group where the team placed second. Of the forty-eight individual events, they scored first place in all but nine events. They also scored first place in all but two of the free relays. The following swimmers won first place in their individual events - Free style- Morgan Holbrook, Brian Wheeler (6& under); Hesper Wu, Addison McLaggan (7-8); Juliana McCuaig, Bryce McLaggan (9-10); Charlotte Miller, Cooper Sutherland (11-12); Hannah Scobel, Morten Graversen (13-14); Alisa Tanakit, Billy Purta (15-18); Back stroke - Hesper Wu, Misha Galant (8 & under); Juliana McCuaig, Dean Luo (9-10); Claire McLaggan, Thomas Chi (11-12); Audrey McLaggan, Kyle Quock (13-14); Katie Thompson, Paul Fracolli (15-16); Breast stroke - Bethany Hung, Misha Galant (8 & under); Christie Chong, Bryce McLaggan (9-10); Claire McLaggan, Thomas Chi (11-12); Audrey McLaggan, Craig Perry (13-14); Joanna Wilk, Jeffrey Tsui (15-16); Butterfly - Elizabeth Hu, Adam Hancock (8 & under); Juliana McCuaig, Dean Luo (9-10); Charlotte Miller, Jonathan Teng (11-12); Hannah Scobel, Kyle Quock (13-14); Annie Scobel, Victor Shih (15-16); Individual Medley (IM) - Claire McLaggan, Thomas Chi (11-12); Hannah Scobel, Kyle Quock (13-14); Annie Scobel, Billy Purta (15-16).
