Local Hospice Care and Cancer Services are Big Winners at Golf Tournament
The Washington Hospital Healthcare Foundation Golf Tournament held its 21st Annual Golf Tournament on May 15 at Castlewood Country Club in Pleasanton. The tournament brings together friends of Washington Hospital and local golfers to raise money for local hospice care and cancer services.
This year's tournament raised more than $72,000 according to Brent Hodson, Executive Director of the Washington Hospital Healthcare Foundation. "I would like to sincerely thank all the volunteers and sponsors for their continued support of this annual event," said Hodson. "The golf tournaments have now raised more than $1 million in proceeds which help provide vital services to the community."
The fund-raising event featured a barbecue lunch, driving range, putting contest, silent auction, dinner, raffle and awards ceremony. This year, approximately 240 golfers enjoyed a glorious day of weather and more than 300 guests enjoyed the dinner and raffle. Four golfers chosen at random had an opportunity to participate in the new "Million Dollar Shoot-Out." Although, none of the golfers made the hole in one, it was very exciting to watch.
