Fremont Blaze, an FNYB (Fremont National Youth Baseball) 12 and under Traveling Team took first place in the USSSA (United States Specialty Sports Association) 3rd annual Sand Splash National Qualifier at De Lavega Park in Santa Cruz.  This was the first tournament in which the Blaze participated and they came out as champions by going undefeated throughout the entire tournament.  Everyone on the team contributed with their bats and defense to go along with the solid pitching.  Members of the team included Erik Penrose, Chad Messier, Josh Bailey, Ryan Gramlich, A.J. Pangelinan, Stephen Ruiz, Ryan L, Inderpreet Dhanhan, Ryan Loeffler, Brandon San Nicolas, and Chris Bell.
