A commendation was presented to Fritz Stoppel, Senior Street Maintenance Worker, who will retire from the City of Newark after 23 years of service. With May 12-21, 2006, designated as Affordable Housing Week in Newark, the Council presented a proclamation to the East Bay Housing Organizations. Another proclamation was presented to Battalion Fire Chief Brian Caminada in recognition of May 14-20 as National Emergency Medical Services Week.
The Newark Unified School District selected a Teacher of the Year from each of the eight elementary schools in Newark, St. Edward's School, the Newark Junior High School, and Newark Memorial High School. The Newark Rotary Club presented recipients with a plaque in honor of their hard work and dedication.
The Newark Unified School District also recognized a Student of the Year from each of the eight elementary schools in Newark, St. Edward's School, the Newark Junior High School, and Newark Memorial High School. The Newark Rotary Club presented these individuals with plaques to commend them for their efforts. |
