Just like the city of Fremont, so is the Fremont Chamber of Commerce celebrating its 50th anniversary on May 12 at the Fremont Marriott. Apart from the anniversary celebrations, Dave O'Hara, a local attorney and current chairman of the Festival of the Arts will be honored with the presentation of the annual Excellence in Leadership Award.

O'Hara will be honored in the presence of his fellow businessmen and women from the Fremont community for his active volunteer work. He has been the Festival of the Arts chairman since 1996 and from 1996 to 1997 he was the chairman of the board for the Fremont Chamber of Commerce. Cindy Bonier, CEO of Fremont Chamber said, "During the years I personally have had the opportunity to work with Dave O'Hara on the festival and his mentoring will be something I will cherish for years to come. Dave's years of involvement within the community are a testament as to why he was chosen to be honored for the Fremont anniversary event. I am proud to honor Dave at such a milestone for the Fremont Chamber of Commerce."

It will be a night of dancing and music at the Rocking 50th anniversary. The dress code includes dresses from the 50s through 80s. Prizes are promised and no boring speeches are to be given. The cost per ticket is $75 and will include dinner, dancing and entertainment. Proceeds will be donated to the Fremont community.
